Study English in Wellington, New Zealand

By Henry Herd

If you have recently arrived in New Zealand and plan on staying for longer, it is very important that you learn the English language as soon as you can. Since English is the world's second most used language, learning the language will also be beneficial when you travel to other countries across the globe.

Contrary to the common belief, English is easy to learn and understand. The language has a simple alphabet, there are easy plurals and other words. This makes it easier and quicker for most people to learn the language.

Study English in Wellington, New Zealand. Wellington is a great city with many students and universities. Studying english will not only help you to feel more "at home" in New Zealand, but will provide you with the knowledge you need to study other subjects at university, or to get a part time or full time job. When studying english, it's important to have a clear purpose for learning the English language, as this will provide you with the motivation for what you'll do after learning the language.

There are also a number of advantages to learning the English language. For one, English is generally the universal language of the internet - meaning that you can easily view and understand many different websites across the internet. Because it is considered a 'global' language, you also have the opportunity to travel to a variety of different countries without the need of a translator - if you were to travel to an English speaking country without a translator, you may find your trip difficult and not as enjoyable as you expected it to be.

But rather than trying to learn the English language by studying books or listening to cassette tapes or CDs, it always best to leave the teaching to the professional. Enrolling yourself in an English study course will help you learn the language in an efficient manner, while keeping to your own pace. With native English speaking tutors teaching the subject, you can have peace of mind that there is always someone available if you get stuck.

An English course is generally referred to as English Studies Level 3. It provides you with a wide range of skills that include reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, listening and speaking in English.

You will be learning and developing your English language skills with many other students who come from a variety of different cultures and ethnic groups. So, you will not feel an odd one out who is not able to speak fluent English.

When you take up an English course, you also get an opportunity to interact with people from different nationalities, including China, Japan, India and South Africa. This way you can find out more about their everyday practices and beliefs and have a broader understanding of how things are done in other parts of the world.

So, rather than wasting time and money on 'English study' books, consider enrolling at an English school where you can learn much more about the language by getting taught by a professional. According to statistics, people are able to remember more by being taught verbally than by learning visually on their own. Also, you will find the motivation from other fellow students in the class to help you complete your course.
